Envision yourself gazing upon an elaborately carved door, the key to unlocking it being your own imagination. And journeying through its opening, you enter another dimension, one which is beyond that known to any ordinary man. A realm as vast as space and as timeless as infinity, it is the middle ground between science and superstition, and it resides between the pit of man’s fears and the precipice of his knowledge. This is a wondrous land formed by the unbridled creativity and sheer will of Bob Conge, a world inhabited by the monstrosities attributed to his Plaseebo guise.
I have long been an admirer of Bob Conge’s art since my first post in 2006, and his blog-interview (in 2008) had been one of the most enriching moments on the blog, with his art encompassing both illustrative and three-dimensional, continued creation in his own genre, without the need to fit into any “trends”, a set-styled “American Kaiju” that showcases his individuality amongst the masses, IMHO.
Bob Conge is an American multidisciplinary artist who first came to our attention thanks to his art toy works released under the ‘Plaseebo’ brand. Born in 1939 Mr. Conge has seen many trends come and go over the years, but he has forever remained his own man, pursuing a lifelong dedication to the arts…

A little over three years ago I began working on a project for Dead Presidents Design, aka Monster Kolor, to design and sculpt a new figure that would be a sort of mascot based on their Ben Franklin logo image.
Here is the epic backstory my design is based on:
Plaseebo and Dead Presidents Design, aka Monster Kolor, are pleased to announce the debut of the DEAD BEN hand cast resin figure on April 12th opening of the MONSTER BRAWL show at the Monster Kolor Gallery in Middleboro Ma. The show will feature custom versions of the Dead Ben figure by Miscreation, Jay222 and Plaseebo.
Here are some photos of the making of Dead Ben. I began by reworking one of Dead Presidents resin figure release of the Ben Franklin bust.
And here is a preview of my custom painted finished figure.
Plaseebo is pleased to have been invited to create a custom based on the Autopsy Zombie Staple Baby vinyl figure from Miscreation Toys for the CRAWLING DEAD show at TAG Gallery in Los Angeles. The “Zombie Baby” is a one of a kind mash-up of the GID vinyl body from Miscreation Toys with a hand cast resin skull from Plaseebo. The skull has inset eyes and the body has been hand pierced and hand painted using Monster Kolor sprays. The figure also has 2 motion activated LED units with replaceable batteries and the body glows in the dark as well. Signed and dated 2014 by Bob.
